She organized festivals in Europe between 1974 and 1980 and made a point of including artists such as Carolee Schneemann, Valie Export and Maya Deren in the circuit. She has more than 10 years\u2019 experience in the audiovisual sector as a researcher, director, and producer. He is also associate editor of \u201cEco-P\u00f3s journal\u201d (ECO\/UFRJ).<\/p>\n<p>He is PhD candidate in Communication and Culture at the \u00a0<strong>Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (U<\/strong><strong>FRJ)<\/strong> with research on archive reappropriation in experimental cinema. He is also assistant-editor at <em>Eco-P\u00f3s<\/em>, the academic journal of the Communication School of the <strong>UFRJ<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>He has worked as a technician in film preservation at the Cinematheque of the <strong>Museum of Modern Art in Rio de Janeiro (MAM Rio)<\/strong> and studied Editing and post-production at <strong>Darcy Ribeiro School of Cinema<\/strong>. She participated as invited curator in the exhibition <strong>Anthropocene<\/strong>, at <strong>Ilmin Museum of Art<\/strong> (Seoul, South Korea, 2019) in <strong>Fuso &#8211; Annual Video Art Show<\/strong> (Portugal, 2011-2014 and 2017), in <strong>Dak&#8217;Art &#8211; Biennial of Contemporary African Art<\/strong> (Senegal, 2016), in the 6th <strong>Jakarta International Video Festival<\/strong> (Indonesia, 2013), in the <strong>10th Xarja Biennial<\/strong> (United Arab Emirates, 2011), in the <strong>16th Cerveira Biennial<\/strong> (Portugal, 2011) and in the <strong>5th Videozone &#8211; International Video Art Biennial<\/strong> (Israel, 2010). She was also one of the jurors of the <strong>14th Xarja Biennial<\/strong> (2019), and a member of the Awards Committee of the Prince Claus Fund Award (2017-2018), the jury of the <strong>10th Rencontres de Bamako &#8211; African Biennial of Photography<\/strong> (Mali, 2015) and recently, the Curators&#8217; Selection Committee for the <strong>11th Berlin Biennial<\/strong> (2020). Currently, Solange Farkas is a member of the jury committee for the <strong>EYE Art &amp; Film Prize<\/strong> in Amsterdam and of the advisory board of the <strong>Piv\u00f4 Art Institute<\/strong> in S\u00e3o Paulo.
