Associação Cultural Videobrasil, a partner of the Brazilian Film & Video Preservation Project, is promoting the 22nd edition of Bienal Sesc_Videobrasil | Especial 40 Anos, entitled A Memória é uma Ilha de Edição (Memory is an Editing Station), which will include an exhibition and a series of public events dedicated to works from the Global South, and will take place from October 18, 2023 to April 28, 2024, at Sesc 24 de Maio, in São Paulo.

The BFVPP was invited to participate in the parallel exhibition “Videobrasil | Especial 40 anos: o arquivo em performance” – a retrospective exhibit of the trajectory of Videobrasil – with the screening of videos by artist Anna Bella Geiger, restored as part of the project.

The Brazilian Film & Video Preservation Project – Anna Bella Geiger event will take place on October 20, as part of the Acervo Comentado cycle. The event is not only a tribute to the work of artist Anna Bella Geiger – an important representative of the beginnings of video art in Brazil – but also marks the launch of the BFVPP website with a presentation of the first complete dossier produced by the project.

On this occasion, there will also be a discussion between Anna Bella Geiger and Vivian Ostrovsky, founder/Advisor of the BFVPP.
