Saudades do Brasil (1984)
Super-8, 25' 27", color, sound
This work was made with footage of Brazilian landscapes, interspersed with New York street scenes. For the soundtrack, the artist used her own voice, in a telephone conversation with the American painter Suzan Frecon. In this conversation Regina talks about Brazilian culture, Dziga Vertov, Glauber Rocha, and the Brazilian people. The one-sided the conversation is interspersed with well-known snippets of Brazilian music.
